We just arrived in one of the prettiest villages of Germany. It is possibly the most "christmacy" decorated town in the country, full of lights, gifts and delightful people.
Just 2 hours away from Frankfurt it consists of the georgraphical center when it comes to raod tripping. You can be in France and Switzerland and back in Germany in a matter of 2 hours.
I am staying in Loewenbraeu hotel in the center of Baden Baden; a place that brings to mind Santa's village in the north pole. There is music playing and people are giving out free chocolate and the whole town is decorated with toys and bright silver lights. People are wearing crazy christmas sweaters and reindeer headbands, carefree and possibly slightly drunk on huge pints of beer.
It is very likely you are going to miss out on half the town as it is perfectly hidden in between little mountain hills. We started from the christmas market which is situated exactly below our hotel room where my family grabbed some warm wine and I enjoyed around a dozen pretzels. Germans are famous for their soft and delicious pretzels and of course their immpeccable nut variety. While walking through the chritmas market, hot chocolate in hand I decided that it was only fair to get some caramel dipped almonds and a huge hot dog. Germans are also extremely famous for their meat especially their sausages which are usually topped with saurkraut, mustard and spicy green peppers to keep you from freezing.
